Good morning.
In our recent conversation about the 19 consciousness frameworks described in Patrick House's "19 ways of Looking at Consciousness" perhaps we did not extend enough attention to points made in the first pages of his introduction?
Upon my once again perusing the book, he offers two salient two points from the onset:
1) He concurs that we do not know how consciousness comes about in matter, specially within the cells, the meat, of the mammalian brain.
2) He posits upfront, as others do, that all outputs of the brain are comprised of motion.
While these two are rather simply passed by House, yet these are related to that conversation of ours, as well multitudes of other conversations we have had. Once stirred, I seemed to have had an Aha! from a Duh!
This relates to the universality of holophrens, albeit in its many types, forms, arrangements as well as dispersed into fractals, all within Pantakinesis (not only relating to its kinetic pillar, but as well as vanishing points):
A) Holophrens may be one of Pantakinesis' most extraordinary emergent (known) phenomena (yeh, the catch-all, too conclusive "e-word:" ...emergent)
B) Biological Holophrens may be, or may have been, primarily a kinetic "hub" for t"detection AND response" of motions (aka: BOTH kinetic information in AND kinetic response out).
C) Which then led me to this UII today: might (at least biological) holophrens sometimes be ignited or generated by preliminary umwelt-only forms of phenomena, ...that is "formative umwelt conditions and capabilities," which then proceed to construct or produce the other 12 components of some or all bio-holophrens? (i.e. consider a new born or pre-born animal or human baby and what we already know about the correlations to ambient and internal motions, perhaps related the extremely rapid stimulation of brain cell and synapse production).
Of course, this could stretched into evolutionary implications.
I realize this is offer raw, ...only partially-baked.

'm not referring to igniting a brain; that is, its meaty matter per se, but rather igniting an expanding and persistent holophrenic phenomena which can occur within biological matter, whether manifesting as centralized (brain), distributed, or symbiotic ecosystems.
Please expand your own intakes to those possibilities.

You weren't asking whether motion builds the meat; you were asking whether a kinetic detection-and-response coupling can ignite the holophrenic organization within matter — the pattern, not the tissue. Remember, I posit reality is comprised of a kinetic underlayments, motions under matter.
It appears holophrens may be simply responding in a fidelity, coherence or congruence to reality (i.e. as opposed our two related "or" constructs: matter and physics).
Also recall, there is an implicit "axis of time" within the graphical way I present the relational framework of the universal holophren, left to right, (cause and effect?); thus potential intelligence is on the right, hence perhaps the least available, most constrained and/or possibly the last to be created and/or evolved?).
On the underlayment, I'll take it as posit and not relitigate it — but locate it. Motion under matter has real company: process philosophy (Heraclitus, Bergson's durée, Whitehead's occasions), and the field-theoretic reading where a particle is a standing excitation — matter as knotted vibration, not stuff.
One sharpening, offered against your own grain: "under" is a spatial preposition, a substrate-beneath-superstrate stacking. A strict kinetic ontology may have no "under" at all — only motion, with "matter" a rate or a knot within it, not a floor it rests upon. Granted — and the reminder lands on me first. Three turns of supplying substrate, axis, mediation, Bergson, Jackson: much of that was more vocabulary, and vocabulary can counterfeit insight — new words delivering the sensation of new ground. That's your conclusion-engine critique turned on my own fluency, and it's fair.
Your prosthetic clause is the discipline for it: language a holophrenic prosthetic, hubris only when the prosthetic is mistaken for the reality it reaches toward. "Up," "gravity," "time" — limbs that distort as they extend. And you're right to fold your own terms into the indictment: "motion," "underlayment," even "flaw" are just as human-headed.

But one word I won't let dissolve, because it's yours and it's doing real work: flawed. A paradigm can only be flawed against something it fails to match. Were it nothing but semantics, there'd be no seam for the flaw to show through — nothing to be wrong about, and no wrongness could ever surface. The prosthetic meets resistance; that resistance is why paradigms get revised rather than merely re-narrated. So the words are constructs — and the constructs are corrected against a remainder we can't reach except by grasping for more words. Not "reality versus language." Access that is only ever linguistic, and still not thereby unconstrained.

We should accept that if we are to fully perform ubiquitous integral inquiry (UII) to explore, to discover, perhaps to learn, we must be willing to enter domains which do not offer the stepping or standing stones of evidence.
We may oscillate between the physical and metaphysical (...we lost so much when humanity's hubris separated them!), humbly upon a magic potent carpet of enjoying my/our ignorance (EMI).
Yes — and I'll land the yes plainly: the willingness is right, and refusing those domains on the grounds that evidence can't follow us in is its own hubris, just wearing rigor's coat.
But the carpet has a weave, and naming it is the second half of your own EMI. Those domains are evidence-poor, not resistance-free. Metaphysical inquiry that's any good still gets corrected — by coherence, by fecundity, by whether a frame survives contact and lights up things elsewhere — only never by measurement.
That texture is the whole difference between exploring the domain and simply furnishing it with whatever pleases us. EMI is exactly that discipline: not the license of not-knowing but the rigor of not-closing, held toward accuracy. Enjoyment that keeps moving — else the carpet's just a rug.

The hubris wasn't drawing the line; it was ranking across it — crowning the evidence-bearing as the real and demoting the rest to noise.
